WILDERNESS FIRST RESPONDER RECERTIFICATION
Review, practice, and stay on top of your skills with NOLS Wilderness Medicine's Wilderness First Responder Recertification Course! This scenario-based approach to recertification provides you the opportunity to test your skills against realistic situations.
You'll practice and relearn wilderness medicine protocols, review evacuation and decision making guidelines, and receive the latest updates in wilderness medicine over the course of three days.
Check out these online resources ahead of time, because you'll start the course with a written exam! You'll learn both in the classroom and in outdoor settings regardless of weather, so come prepared for wet, muddy, cold or hot environments!

Wilderness First Aid + CPR
$425 (CAD) per person
WILDERNESS FIRST AID + CPR
Prepare for the unexpected with this engaging, hands-on introduction to wilderness medicine, taught over two or two and a half days. If you like to take short trips relatively close to medical resources, work at wilderness camps, enjoy weekend family outdoor activities, or recreate outdoors, this course is for you.
This course is great for people of all experience levels, and is best suited for those who recreate outdoors where EMS response can be expected in a timely manner (fewer than eight hours). You'll learn the Patient Assessment System, how to provide effective first aid treatments for injuries and illnesses common in the outdoors, and how to make appropriate evacuation decisions.
You'll learn both in the classroom and in outdoor settings regardless of weather, so come prepared for wet, muddy, cold or hot environments!

This course is approved for 1 college credit through the University of Utah and 0.5 college credit through Western Colorado University.
Course Approval
This course meets the American Camp Association 2012 Standards and the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid training requirements. Additionally, the Wilderness First Aid course (WILDMI-554), and when included the CPR/AED course (WILDMI-134), are approved by the United States Coast Guard
to meet the first aid and CPR training requirements of 46 CFR 11.201(i)(1)(ii) and 46 CFR 11.201(i)(2)(iiI) for a merchant mariner credential.

Wilderness First Responder

WFR 10 DAY INCLUDES CPR
If you work or recreate in the outdoors or in other austere environments where access to medical care is delayed or communication is unreliable, our 9-10 day Wilderness First Responder course is for you! It is the industry standard for professional guides, trip leaders, search and rescue team members, outdoor recreationists, and international travelers.
Upon completion, you will be able to conduct a thorough physical exam, obtain a patient history, assess vital signs, provide emergency care in the wilderness, and make crucial evacuation decisions.
You'll learn both in the classroom and in outdoor settings regardless of weather, so come prepared for wet, muddy, cold, or hot environments!

Wilderness Rescue
$1200 (USD) per person
If you are interested in the field of Search and Rescue, or just want to be better prepared and able to help in emergency evacuations, this is the course for you.
The Wilderness Rescue course is progression of technical skills and knowledge that will help you be an asset in a rescue situation. The course starts each day with a classroom session where we will review the days topics, covering the fundamentals followed by hands on practical exercises to hone these skills. The class will also involve several mock rescues where the students will put all their training to use.
Prerequisites: Minimum 16 hour Wilderness First Aid Training
